brookyn grange update

as mentioned in a previous post, this past saturday night was a celebration for the end of the season for Brookyn Grange, an incredible 1-acre roof farm in LIC, Queens I volunteered at this past summer....for the fall issue of Edible Queens, BG farm graced the cover along with many the awesome people, including Ben, Qwen, Anastasia, Hester (not in the picture but still awesome!), and Rob (I'm in back somewhere there also!) who gave their time to setting it up, running it, planting and transplanting, watering before the irrigation system was set up, harvesting tomatoes, lettuce, beans, peppers, eggplants, and many more delicious grown goodies, delivering the goods to local restaurants in Queens, Brookyn and NYC, and selling at farmers markets...
now a few months off in the winter but no breaks really as ben and gwen will be building a greenhouse and anastasia and i will be brainstorming on designing some graphic tees and some art related fund raisers for next season so stayed tuned...and come March we'll be starting seedlings in the future to-be-built greenhouse...
